Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use what i've bought in a competition?

Yes of course you can, however if you do I ask for the following conciderations:

You check you are allowed to use items you have not made yourself in your competition
You don't claim items from this site as your own work
Let us know if you win any prizes, so it can be listed in the awards section.

What methods of payment do you accept?

My prefered method of payment is Pay Pal, this is a safe secure payment method allowing you to pay whilst keeping all of your details safe and secure.

I am able to accept cheques or cash if Pay Pal is a problem, however I can only accept payment in Brittish Pounds, any comission paied for by cheque or cash will not be started untill payment has arrive and any cheque cleared, which could delay the completion time of your request. I also strongly advise that sending any money through the post is done some via regestered mail, not only does this provide proof of sending and proof of my recipt it will give you cover in the event of loss or damage in the post.

What makes up the cost of your items?

Quotes are made up of Material Costs + Labor + P&P

Materials are sourced ofr each items, due to the bespoke (on off) nature of custome made products, this sometimes means that the material costs may be a bit higher than if the item was being factory made.

Labor costs vary according to the complexity and length of time an item will take to make, however as an hourly rate I never quote more than £5 per hours for man hours (Average labor is usally around £2 - £3 per hour)

Please also remember you are simply paying for the materials and pure construction time, the time and effort that goes into putting together a pattern for an item and sourcing the materials your getting for free.

Why is having insurance on my P&P recomended?

Having your package insured means that it is covered in the event of loss or damage during delivery. It also means that there is proof that the package has been both sent and recieved as all items will require signing for when delivered.

If you choose to save on cost by not having your item insured, then it is you who will be taking the risk as I will not be responsable for items which are lost /damaged during delivery if the package is not insured.

What is your refund policy?

Because each item is indvidually made and will not get shipped unless its of an acceptable standard. There will be no refunds or returns once the item has been shipped all bar the following exceptions.

If you have used insured P&P and the item is lost/damaged during shipping I will be able to claim compensation from the shipping company and pass this on to you as a form of refund.

If in the unlikly situation the product is not as requested (as I always send photos during construction and upon completion to ensure it is as required before shipping), I am happy to make amendments at no extra material (within reason) /labor charge, however the buyer is responsable for additional shipping incurred from this.

If you change your mind about the item once construction has started, I will refund all material costs and if the item is unfinished any remaining labo costs, any labor costs which have alread been incurred will not be refunded as I will have already done that work for you. After refunding material costs, I will also keep the materials /item as the refund will mean that i have bought those materials back off you.

Please also note that the items made on this site are for the use of cosplay / fancy dress, any damage incurred those excessive forces / inapropriate usage will not be my responsability and will not qualify for a refund.

Any qualifying refunds must be requested within 30days of paurchase.

If you have any concerns or questions please contact me before commiting yourself to a comission.

Why do you not publish all of your prices?

I don't publish prices because they change so frequently. If materials become more expensive, the prices go up. If I refine a pattern to be easier, the prices go down. If I find a better way to do something, the prices go down. Things like this will have an effect on the price.

I can get this costume for £x from Ebay or somewhere else will you prices lower to match theres?

The simple answer to this one is no.
Basically costumes you can purchase from somewhere like ebay are made in countries where the material costs are significantly lower and the minimum wage is probably much lower as well. I provide good value for money at UK prices,

If you can find someone who will make your outfit cheaper and money is an issue, please get your outfit from them, I won't take it personally ^_~
